Tim Floyd accussed of fellating small farm animals

I big ol' flying eff you to USC coach Tim Floyd. Granted I didn't have any real money on this game, I had a large chunk of NBX blogger pride 'units' placed on USC +8.5. Looked like I was going to make a huge score to move near the Top 3, felt pretty good, then douchebag Floyd throws a sissy temper tantrum for a technical foul. 2 free throws and USC now loses by 10 points instead of 8. I've found a whole new variation on the tilt theme.

The bonus was losing actual bets placed for me by MiamiDon because of a stupid last second three pointer and Butler deciding to bring back the 4 corners offense even though they were down late.

Stupid sports betting.

Today I have Memphis +2 and Kansas -2.

~

I'll be playing in the first two (corrected the UK blogger tourney name) and going to try to make the WPBT event.

Alive and Kicking

Now I have that damned Simple Minds song running through my head. Is there anything worse?

Feeling a bit better today and think I'm ready to get back on the Soco horse. I only coughed up half a lung during the evening and it no longer feels like battery acid when I choke back the hourly cowboy killer. Things are looking up.

After three consecutive weekends in US gambling cities, this weekend I plan to get re-re-reacquainted with the lazyboy and DVR. I'll play some tournaments on Sunday (Riverchasers HORSE and UK blogger event) and probably hit up one of the Riverchasers bar events. Other than that I have nothing going on except getting fatter and happier. Basketball, shady online poker, and two tons of pizza and junk food. Sounds like an excellent plan to me.

Of course on the NCAA gambling front, I told you yesterday I was wrong. Way wrong. I was even wrong about how wrong I would be. I said if you reversed my picks you would most likely go 3 and 1. Actually you would have gone 4 for 4 and made a boatload of money. Fortunately I was smart enough to ignore my own advice and managed a small profit in the NBX.com contest.

Gather around children and I'll give you the backward picks again. MiamiDon calls me the Anti-Midas. Everything I touch turns to shit.

Butler +10.5
Georgetown -8
Oregon -3
USC +8.5

So go place the opposite bets on BoDog, make a mint, and you owe me a shot next time you see me.

~

I played in the Riverchasers event which is more than I can say for a lot of the people who signed up. Not sure if it was a full moon last night but I saw some of the worst poker play in a long time. Horrible play got rewarded like Mother Variance was having a heavy flow day. Premium hands getting called down with powerhouses like Q9 and K5, backdoor straights and flushes were the death du jour. Luckily most of the lemurs gave back their chips before making the money but it was an odd night at the tables. Three times I flopped We Three Kings and barely got paid off. Twice in the small blind flopping trip Kings and once flopping a set with KK. Nary an extra chip from my opponents. Yet these same players turn around and lay their tournament life on the line with junk.

That being said, these are the people I want to pay me off in the end. Morons only make it so far. I'll try to take their money while I can. Thanks to everyone who came out, hopefully we'll have a bigger field and better money next time around. Here are the tournaments left for the weekend. I added the Inaugural UK Blogger/reader Tournament for Sunday. I'll already be playing in my Sunday afternoon $24+2 Riverchaser HORSE event. If my muddle brain can do that math, I believe 8pm GMT = 3pm ET.

Everyone have a good weekend and hopefully I'll see you on the tables this weekend.

Knock knock knocking...

Still feeling like a steaming pile of poo but I'm getting by. I'm currently overdosing on a cocktail of Tylenol PM, gallons of water, 3 Red Bulls (so far), and large amounts of nicotine. The water keeps me hydrated, the Red Bulls keep my from passing out at my desk from the Tylenol PM, and the nicotine keeps me sane so I don't kill any co-workers.

Soon I'll either be feeling somewhat back to myself or my heart is going to explode out of my chest. Either way, I won't feel like shit.

Though I was able to drag my ass into work today, I think I have to stay away from the bar for another night. Eventually I will have to balance the needs of the liver with the pain of the throat but that battle is for another day. I'll be camped out in front of the tube tonight watching the third round of the NCAA tournament hoping to hit my bets and move up the list in the NBX.com Battle of the Blogs. I'm sitting in seventh but it's still up in the air. Have I mentioned what the winners get in this little contest? Cash, BEER, and advertising. 1st place gets a kegger which will come in handy should I ever decide to drink beer again.

I'm not betting all the games because I have no clue. But if I were a betting man, here is what I would do.

Kansas +9 over Southern Illness

Texass A&M -3.5 over Memphis. Sitting over our 3rd or 10th shot in Vegas a few weeks back, MiamiDon in his infinite wisdom told me that these guys were going deep in the tourney. I agree. As Don says, "Law IV is a ballah"

Pitt ML over UCLA. Big East > Pac 10.

OSU Muggers -5 versus Tenn. No reasoning whatsoever.

There you have it. If my betting trends continue, I suggest you pick the exact opposite of those above. You will most likely go 3 and 1 for tonight's games because I suck that bad.

~

Last night I crashed hard as soon as I walked in the door from work. Successfully avoided the crap-fest of American Idol and woke in enough time to play in the Mookie. I doubled up early with KK on a 222 flop and actually had the chiplead for 3.5 seconds. I gave a chunk back walking into a flopped set and went out 9th of 46 with my JJ versus the all powerful QTo.

Then sweet sweet sleep before I could even get out of my chair. I love being ill.

Save the cheerleader, save your crappy league!

More of Hayden and the Stanley Cup here, here, and here.

~

I'm going to try and continue my string of final table appearances at the Riverchaser events by carefully walking through the minefield and picking my spots. If it's a big field and I make another big jump, I just might move closer to GCox at the top of the leaderboard. I'm not sure if I'm up for two tabling with CC's event tonight but I'll hop in for some railbirding.

See you there.

Dead again

I'm dying. Not in any emotional, psychological, or metaphysical way. My body is shutting down and there is nothing I can do about it. I'm fairly certain one of blonde girls from this weekend was an outbreak monkey caring a vicious strain of TB. My head feels like it's ready to burst and a 500 pound gorilla is camped out on my chest. I should take a pause here to run outside for a quick cigarette. Because that's what stupid people do.

I haven't seen BigMike since sometime early morning Sunday when I left Red Square for a now-infamous cab ride home. I fear he may also have contracted the evil hot blonde sickness which is currently making me feel like the bottom of my rotten shoes after a particularly moist Mardi Gras. The mere thought of nicotine or Soco makes me shiver. I can only think about dying in my lazy boy surrounded by hot totties, large blankets, and mindless daytime TV. Oh, and chinese food too. Because I'm seriously fucked in the head.

Instead I've managed to drag my 3/4 dead body into my place of employment because of project deadlines. My only hope coming out of this is that I infect at least a half dozen other people with this ailment. If I don't improve in the next 48 hours, I'm going to take the drastic measure of drowning myself in a pool of Southern. Soco has always cured what ails me.

Except the alcoholism. But that's just nit picking.

Word has it that this little virus going around clogging up my head, chest, and making it feel I'm caught in a vice will last over a week and it's only going to get worse. Fanstastic. I have images of antibiotics, cough medicine, and nicotine withdraw dancing in my head. Christ, you go on a three week bender and look what happens.

~

I'm going to do my best to make it out to the Mookie tonight. I won't be anywhere near a bar so the odds are looking way up. Plus I'm pretty sure American Idol will be on tonight so there is no reason to even turn on a TV. Bunch of souless twits.

For tonight, just because I'm feeling a little loopy in the head, I'll ahead and put another bounty on Fuel just because it amuses me. I'll give you a month worth of Mookie buy-ins if you knock him out with pocket 5's.

Plenty of tournament action for the rest of the week, come on out and join us.

Where can I find a hooker with dentures?

Sometimes I call it the "ride of shame". The long ride home after a fine bender when I spend time going over the fuzzy memories from the night before. It's good to have a couple wingmen along to help piece together the parts that were blacked out of your memory. I am often equally horrified and amused at some of the things which happen. It's going to take a little while for a proper writeup.

It's tough after to try and determine what exactly can be written about and what is verboten. That includes a certain member of the party who seemed to have a leather-clad, woman-sized mole permanently attached to his face for several hours. Can I write about the flock of beautiful blonde girls who instantly appeared in a swirl of black wife beaters and supersized alcoholic appetites? And is a large group of blondes called a flock, gaggle, or harem? I call it heaven, but that's just me.

Be patient with me, I'm checking on which stories can and cannot be posted. I'm also working on getting whatever pictures that exist ok'd as well. April has quite a few up already including the one below. Who needs a stinking shot glass when you can just get a "Go Cup" full of Southern Comfort. And that was not my last shot. We were still 5 hours away from a cab ride that included a question to the driver "Where can I find a hooker with dentures? I'm looking for a gum-job".

God bless BigMike. That fucking guy sure knows how to throw one hell of a party.

~

I thought I made a nice run over the last two days at the NBX.com Battle of the Blogs until I checked the standings this morning and saw that both MiamiDon and CJ both catapulted past me. That's the last time I help Don out with any of his picks. He keeps stealing mine and taking my glory. Wait, nevermind. I've been the one stealing his picks and managing to hang on despite my complete lack of skill. He's been showing me the ropes and I'm getting ready for the real deal.

The last tournament is a monthly Sunday afternoon $24+2 or token deepstack H.O.R.S.E event which was pretty interesting when I held it last month. A lot less push monkeys than the freeroll last week.

Cheers and we'll see you there.
