A quickie update
I arrived in Vegas a little late but I got here in time to see it snow on the Vegas strip. Just a quick post while I'm waiting room service, checking my email, and waiting for the others to get moving. Before the update, I forgot that I owe you a big ol' gallery of Daddy's favorites. Here's a new girl. Orei Harada. Enjoy.
Shorty by the numbers...
Number of Catholic school girls on my flight: 10 that I counted.
Number of shreiking harpy Catholic school girls on my flight that kept me from sleeping off my semi-hangover: 10 seemed to turn into 100.
Horse wagering with the BG-created handicapping: -$20. Hit big bets early than faded. By faded I mean that I didn't win another bet. Came really really close to hitting two monster trifectas which were big enough and bet hard enough to pay for my last two Vegas trips.
Poker play: +$300 and change. Found some exceptionally horrible players while milling around the IP waiting for JDub and company late night.
Number of succesfull college basketball picks: 4 and 0 with MiamiDon. Just too bad neither one of us stopped drinking long enough to actually place the bets he picked. So make the 0 for 0.
Hours slept: 3 hours since 4am ET Wednesday morning. The only reason I crashed at 5 this morning is because early Thursday morning in Vegas wasn't happening except for the gray hairs playing slots and keno.
Food consumed: Making Pauly happy, I've actually managed to eat TWICE since I've been here. That's one more time then my last three day bender here.
Dial-a-shots: 3. Dr. Pauly, Mookie, and WiffleHouse to put him on Carmen tilt.
Bartabs, plural, at the IP sportsbook: I am now a line item on the Imperial Palace bar budget. Shots of Soco, Patron, Jack, and something with a funny name for the girlies.
I spent a large chunk of yesterday sitting at the IP sportsbook with MiamiDon and Carmen talking all things sports and blogs. It was a great way to kick off the bender since I've never been able to spend any serious bar time with Don and the last time I hung out with Carmen I played dunk-the-camera. We were bullshitting, drinking well, and watching several college games including the double OT game between Texas and Texas A&M. That would have been the 4th win if I followed his picks. I think we also went 0 for 2 in the "Spot the Hooker" game.
Today's plan is to hit the Wynn for brunch, hook up with PokerProf, and stay sober enough to play the 2-5NL at the Bellagio so Linda can deal me some monsters later this evening. The last one is a stretch since I don't plan to stop drinking until I get on the plane tomorrow evening.
Mind, liver, and bankroll are performing at peak efficiency.
Cheers

Many thanks
In honor of the Oscar ceremony, I'd like to thank...
... the Academy for inviting Jennifer Love Hewitt to the Oscars. I was amazed to find pictures of her attending the event. We've both starred in exactly the same number of hit movies, zero. I don't follow the awards, the red carpet, or the parties. But that pic got my attention. Plus, I somehow managed to miss the entire broadcast except for about 30 seconds. No accidental click overs for me on Sunday night. Click the picture over there for huge version.
... JDub (and BigMike) for talking me into taking the trip to Vegas tomorrow. This could be a rager for the ages. I wonder if I'll be able to track down the Weezy Jefferson looking hooker that rolled me one morning and get my cash back? Already setting up booze, gambling, and debauchery plans with some of the local broggers. Lord help us, my liver, and my bankroll. The plan is to get JDub's wife plastered early and often so that we can get the town in style.
... the Boy Genius. Speaking of bankroll, I'm going to be walking into the race book at the Imperial Palace Wednesday morning/afternoon complete with a BG handicapping guide for the races of the day. I'm already booking the win. Free drinks after all. I'm pouring over his picks with my super-amateur-eye and I already have a headache.
... the Blogfather for moving back to Guinness and Poker. Nothing against his pokerworks gig, because I love those guys. With his move to pokerworks, I couldn't get to his monster uber-posts from work. With the move back to his home, I can now go back to my normal lack of workplace productivity. And I'm taking credit for the picture he put on that post. I found that floating around the web yesterday and knew it was perfect for him.
... Pauly and the PokerNews crew for crushing the competition again for live tournament reporting. If you get a chance, go check out his post where Erica Schoenberg looks slightly smoking-ass-hot in a Cinderella tee. Think Pauly could tell her I can introduce her to the guys in the band?
... the brilliance behind Heroes. Fantastic episode last night. Lost can suck it.
... the makers of Tastykakes. If you don't live in this area you just don't understand. Their sugar-packed, creme-filled, pseudo-pastry substances have allowed me to continue hanging around my fighting weight of 2 tons. Great stuff, get BG to mail you a case.
... Fuel55 for continuing my desire to post bounties on other players. Since I'll be neck deep in booze and bets tomorrow night and won't make the Mookie, I'll put a bounty on his head. If you knock him out, I'll place a $10 NFL future bet on any team you want. If you knock him out with an inferior starting hand, I'll place a $20 bet. I've already talked to Mookie and he will get me the information Thursday so I can get it down. And if Fuel wins, I'll give him the wager.
... everyone for sticking around. I'm going to post a large Daddy-inspired gallery again tonight before I leave just for you. Refresh later and it will be RIGHT HERE.
Cheers everyone, and don't forget to support the blogger events while I'm gone.

Checking out
I made two ridiculous runs at the Riverchasers and CC's Thursday Bash tournaments. Two tabling the tournaments on two different sites is a huge pain in the ass. Luckily the cards in the Riverchasers event were playing themselves. I had a huge chip lead in that tourney before running out of gas in 5th out of 91. Once Falstaff busted out of CC's event, he logged on with my account so I wouldn't have to flip back and forth between the two sites and the multiple tables I had open. I got a little aggressive in CC's event with the big stack mentality I was using in the Riverchasers. I busted out 5th of 27 on Stars just short of the bubble.
So in two tournaments at the same time I made dual 5th place finishes which had very little to do with skill and a whole lot to do with being concussed by the deck. Then I went into shutdown mode.
Falstaff was heading to his hotel and bravely resisted all temptations thrown his way to hit the dive strip club. I nearly convinced myself that I should follow his lead and have a forgotten weekend in the land of crackheads and filthy diseased poker chips. I should have gone to AC.
My phone died and I chose not to recharge it. The house phone rang and I chose not to answer it. I stayed away from the internet and 50 daily emails. I watched endless reruns of shows that I couldn't remember 10 minutes after they were complete and I occasionally checked to make sure the bottle of semi-frozen limoncello was still in the freezer.
This is how I keep from losing my shit, and it doesn't always work.
I took a few hours from my weekend of disconnect to join the guys at a new bar that was throwing a Riverchasers freeroll. I ate and drank without a thought in the world. I sleep walked myself into a 3rd place finish (Landow out in 2nd) and donked around in a second chance tourney. The 3am trip to Burger King seemed completely natural until the 6am near-death heartburn kicked in.
It's been an interesting couple of days mixed with full bore "get thee drunk" moments and hours of introspection masked as zombie-like TV watching. I don't know who long it's going to take me to get my shit together here on the site or comfortable inside mine own skull, but I'm working on it.
Doesn't exactly seem like the best of times to be hopping on a plane and jetting off to sin city but that's exactly what I am doing bright and early Wednesday morning. 48 straight hours of no-sleep, non-sober, negative EV gambling and whatever debauchery JDub picks for our entertainment. Ranches full of Bunnys, bars full of hookers, and breakfast at the Rhino. If I survive, I just might have a story or two.
~
Sure sign of my psychosis, I've had this song stuck in my head since Saturday. Not the worst thing in the world compared to the song that was stuck in there on Friday. I accidentally flipped over to VH1 Classic and was horrified to have Phil Collins - Easy Lover linger in my skull for the better part of 24 hours. That would make a normal man scare up a peppermint flavored pistol to chew on.
"The S is for super and the U if for unique..." Shoot me now. Please.
~
I may just skip posting tomorrow and take the week off while I drown my memories in crush my bankroll. Pics, stories, and scanned copies of all arrest warrants when I return.
Let me remind of you the blogger events going on this week.
