The last stop.... 

62% and counting.

I am mere hours from hopping on a non-stop flight across the country to meet more of my blogger compatriots, drink ridiculous amounts of alcohol, and attempt to break the indoor smoking law as many times as possible.

Oh yeah, and repay everyone's confidence by crushing a tourney or two.

For any bloggers showing up this weekend, look for the hippy wearing the McNabb jersey on Saturday. Sunday, I think I'll pull out the Chelsea jersey.

Last night I decided to warm up for the weekend...

by going out to the bar and tying one on. No less than 3 people mentioned the eBay auction without me bringing it up. Andrea (sunday bartender) asked what piece of me she could get for $5.

Luckily I have an understanding wife who just chuckled at my answer. She also thought it was funny that of all the people who have bought a stake, she's not one of them. She knows!

I also heard a rumor that the Commerce doesn't have the denominations on their tourney chips. If that's the case, I'm in trouble. I won't have Otis or Marty on either side.

But I won't have free booze to cloud my mind either.

We'll call it a push.

Damn it, Otis. My airfare is already booked for L.A. It's much too late to change it to Denmark. Now if it was Amsterdam..... that might be worth changing the flight.

I'm completely stunned at the reponse my little eBay auction has been getting. As of right now, over 700 hits to the eBay page and 15 friggin' percent sold.

Then I find out the Felicia has posted about the auction on the 2+2 forum. Oh god lord, now it's starting to get a bit crazy. So far, a couple of 2+2'ers have bought shares. My favorite email from one of them....


"Saw the link on 2 + 2. The parody of Boyd's auctions is worth the price alone.

Oh good lord. Look what I've started. Luckily, none of the blindfaith followers of "Da Crew" have started flaming me yet.

I had another crazy idea. He has an eBay auction for a 25% stake in the tourney AND he will wear any logo hat your request. I want to bid on that auction. And what would I make him wear?

How about a PokerSpot hat? Wouldn't that be appropriate?

Tomorrow I will post all the bloggers who have shown the ability to throw away a small portion of their hard earned money to back a booze-fueled attempt at poker stardom. I gotta tell you though, the SC posse showed up in force.

SirFWALGMan (I think that's right) posted a link on his website to some guy named Tucker Max. Never heard of the guy and I'm not completely 100% sold...

but this might be the funniest damned road trip story I've ever read. It's very long but worth the time. It makes me long for the good ol' days. Or maybe just the Bahamas from two weeks ago. I have got to start carry around one of those little voice recorders so I can remember what the hell happens after blackout island.

....see you in L.A. 

Anyone who's been reading this junk for any length of time knows that I've got a problem. I'm an idiot. But I'm a special kind of idiot.

Two weeks in a row, on a whim, I went to the Bahamas THEN -20 degree Minnesota. Only a certifiable idiot does stuff like that.

So what's the point?

Yesterday I planned on sitting down and actually writing some poker content (shriek). I spent the entire weekend playing O8 on Party and winning at a ridiculous rate. For example, Dr.Pauly sits down and realizes that I've tripled my buy-in. In one hour at O8. Another time, after only 50 hands I was up more than 30BB. They were paying me to sit at the table. Idiots. But don't take my word. Stay away and leave the fishes for me.

Anyway, I digress.

I was planning on writing about that. Instead, I spent a good chunk of my day figuring out how I'm going to get out to the City of Angels for the LA Poker Classic. When I brought it up to the wifey, she just gives me the look. It's the same look she would give a puppy who whizzed on the kitchen floor. It's wrong, but you don't know any better. Let's go.

So the Can't Hangs are heading out to LaLa Land!

Friday to Monday will be filled with all kinds of poker and boozy goodness. If you're on the west coast, get thee to the Commerce.

While I have plenty of other things to writeup (Fly Eagles Fly), I'll leave you with this.
