Madness and another seat

It's not like I need additional reasons to binge it up but I'll use March Madness and the full moon as an excuse. Two straight 14+ hour "shifts" at the pub watching and drinking, today will be the same. Every hand of poker I've played over this week was heavily influenced by liquid non-sense and it showed. I plan to play Saturday's with Dr. Pauly in the same condition.

I'll be updating the BBT3 Leaderboard this afternoon, it's running a little late because number crunching wasn't terribly high on my priorities. Congrats to everyone who won their way into the ToC.

~

This was just posted on the Full Tilt BBT promo page, 7 seats weren't enough so they're tacking on another $2k Bracelet Package. Details are here. We should also have out details of the writing contest shortly.
How about one more shot at a $2K WSOP* prize package? If you've got a blog and participate in the Battle of the Bloggers 3, all you have to do is post the Badge on your blog for the length of the tournament series and you’ll be entered into a Freeroll for the $2K prize package.

The Freeroll, Sunday, June 8th, will be held exclusively for those who displayed the Badge with pride for the duration of Battle of the Bloggers 3 Tournaments.
We are now up to 8 total WSoP seats. FTP keeps juicing up the challenge to the point where I don't think I'll ever be able to match this one. Maybe someday I'll post about the conversations when we started negotiating the setup of BBT3 but trust me when I say they're giving a ton more than I requested. Of the top of my head, FTP has given us close to $70,000 in cash and prizes in less than 12 months. That's a number that makes me shake my big drunken head.

Thanks to FTP for the hookup but also a big thanks to the players and bloggers. If no one showed for the games then we wouldn't have gotten their attention.

Cheers and don't forget about the weekend blogger games.

Basketball and booze

No funny stories about drunken antics or scantily clad girls today. I'm too busy watching basketball, pretending to work, reading Dr. Pauly's live blog and pushing the envelope with multiple dial-a-shots before sunset. My phone is on and the glass is full, feel free to ring me up.

Congrats to presdlee for picking up the lastest seat in the BBT3 ToC by withstanding the unbelievable play of the worst poker player. I don't think anyone was surprised when the big lead was gacked up once again and Yellow Fever pics weren't even on the line.

Tonight is Riverchasers and it's a non-NLHE night. You think PLO 4 card bingo is fun, tonight is PLO8 means we'll be watching lemurs potting and repotting with nothing but nekkid A2xx runner runner draws.

Drink well, good luck with your bets and see you tonight.

St. Paddy's Day, not so bad after all

Monday night's amateur night was much easier to cope with then anticipated. There was your standard fare of drunk monkey boys but most of them lit it up too early and often to become a factor. There was more Drop Kick Murphys and Flogging Molly played on the jukebox then normal which wouldn't have been so bad had they selected anything other than the same song over and over. For the most part I was left on my own to imbibe freely with only my friends nearby. I was able to play some piss poor poker in the MATH then concentrate fully in getting myself sloppy drunk.

The only blasted person in the bar who had access to me was a monster of my own creation. I ordered the shots and beers that put him over the edge. While I was playing the MATH he was a chatter box going non-stop in my left ear like a drunken Energizer Bunny. Luckily marriage prepared me for such a barrage, I was able to ignore his chatter for the most part throwing out the occasional nonsensical response to make it seem I was listening.

I timed the drinking perfectly as I was nice and looped by last call when things started to hit the tipping point around me. While the drinking was nice it seemed the universe was doing it's best to put me on life tilt throughout the night. I follow the old adage. When in doubt, drink til you don't care anymore. I spent the next day slipping through different stages of consciousness after filling my belly with a mix of hangover pizza (extra cheese, pepperoni, onion, garlic) and 5 pounds of high grade Chinese food. By the time the Skillz game kicked off last night I was back to not caring very much about much of anything.

I finally caught up on the BBT3 Leaderboard and ToC winners. Congrats to everyone who's added their name to the list of those competing for the big WSoP prizes. twoblackaces and lucko look to be the front runners to win the first $2k Bracelet Race package for the month of March, both guys are clocking in big numbers with just about every event.

Tonight is the world famous Mookie event. Big bad fields with plenty of entertainment from BuddyDouche Radio, assuming they get the servers back up and running. Since I received a great response last week for the charity, I'll put my offer out there again. Anyone who donates here or here during the Mookie will get free shots at The Bash (September 26-27, Phoenixville PA. I promise more info soon) and anyone who matches my donation will drink for free all night long.

See you at the Mook.

"So, is St. Patty's Day a professional drinking holiday or an amateur event that is blown out of proportion?"

MilwaukeeSteve
Not much of a real question. It's the last in the unholy trinity of amateur drinking nights, perhaps the worst. The other two being the night before Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve. I'll just have to keep my shit together to avoid the bumbling stumbling hammer heads and pray they don't spew all over the bathroom. Silly college kids over-drinking and playing shit songs on the jukebox. I can't wait so I'll be heading there nice and early.

I can only remember one St. Patrick's Day in recent memory that was even worth mentioning. That drunk day fell on opening weekend of the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament, BigMike and I hit the Boathouse at 11am (not leaving until sometime Saturday morning), 6 bottles of Soco, live blogging the drunk and getting a call from Spaceman half way through the binge with an offer to go to the Playboy Mansion on 6 days notice. I woke up the next day fully clothed in my hallway with half assed dreams of Playboy Bunnies and drinking the Mansion dry.

I don't begrudge anyone their chance to go out tonight and drink like the world is on fire. Take your chances by crushing some Jameson or car bombs. Stay away from the green beer, act like you've done it before and if that local drunk in the corner starts giving your gruff just stay out of his way. You're making it tough for him to get his regular Monday bar service.

~

The beginning of St. Patrick's weekend saw a bunch of blogger and Riverchaser drinkers descend upon my regular drinking establishment. Hijinx ensued. I'm not even sure what I can safely report on because it got out of hand pretty quickly. It probably started when a certain unnamed blogger's answer to my question about a shot was "I want Al shots!!". My shots don't resemble anything normal human beings ingest, take a rocks glass and fill it to the brim. Rinse and repeat.

There were boobs, (female) blogger on (female) blogger tonsil hockey, questionable dancing by Riggs, fucking with the band and one of the best lap dances I've witnessed outside of Teasers. I don't think BigMike has yet recovered from his mustache tango. Things went from zero to sloppy in a blink. I found myself in an uncomfortable situation. I was the voice of sanity.

Good times with my friends, they don't happen nearly enough. This was just a tiny micro-version of what will be happening during The Bash in September. Multiply 10 fold with a better band, bar full of local college girls and body shots.

Week three of the BBT3 Challenge starts tonight with Monday's at the Hoy. 6-max hell for $26 or token. I make no promises about my play tonight since I'll be on a drunk enhancing substance. I certainly need to pick up my game after last weeks horrid showing.

Everyone have a safe drunk amateur and I'll see you at the MATH.
