4th is the 3rd loser

No time to sit around idly and chat about the many glories of the online world. Things are hectic as I try to survive the final day of the week then spend the next 3 days in sweet drunken bliss. My world will return to normal and be filled with chinese takeout, football, and very little sleep.

There wasn't nearly enough drinking last night because we chose the option of actually playing in the Riverchasers game instead of post/fold for donation. Landow and I both made our way homes and god damn if we didn't both make the final table. Nothing really to show for my 4th place finish, I didn't even belong there as I laid a horrible beat on MiamiDon early in the game. Incredibly horrible read rewarded with a gross guttershot.

The rest of the game was played on borrowed time which I thought I hosed up with a moment of weakness. I can't remember whether I jumped up to grab something to drink or to take a quick whizz, either way I got back to my laptop just in time to have my hand auto-folded. It's a shame, this hand would have made Fuel proud had I managed to click through in time. Then I had to stay up extra late to make sure the numbers were done for the Leaderboard. Too many numbers, not enough booze.

Nice job by XxMagiciaNxX to build a monster stack and use it well on his way to a win. He's the first double winner during the challenge and one less player in the TOC now. Congrats to Kajagugu for leading the pack at the halfway mark. The email is submitted to get the FTOPS Main Event entry and I will confirm when it's completed (I have it on good authority that this is complete already). Mike_Maloney hangs on for Player of the Week and will be entered into the $750k Sunday tournament next week (along with the others patiently waiting).

Only a few days left to hit the Tier II token frenzies. MiamiDon's Big Game is this Sunday at 21:30ET and will probably have the largest prizepool of any blogger hosted tournament to date.

Too beat to title

The headache is still here and yesterday was no better. At least I had the pleasant fog of the booze flu to cover part of it up. Sitting here before heading back into the hell I call my day job I realized it's not caused by anything less than pure old fashioned stress. My jaw hurts from grinding and my brain is hurting from holding back the caustic comments that a weaker man would throw out at the slack jawed yokels I have to deal with.

Last night was so bad that I didn't even have time to login and withdraw my registration in the Mookie. (still fished 48th you fish, good enough for the points in the old scoring system). I'm taking 5 minutes out of my day to vent my spleen here and make sure the BBTwo Leaderboard is up to date. I'll spend the rest of my day holding back murderous thoughts because I'm sure the price tag for a lawyer to defend me against a man slaughter charge is pretty steep.

At least I have my 4pm weekly trip to the bar to help my state of mind. I'll just keep thinking about the booze.

Booze

Lovely lovely booze.

Rye and Poker put me on a little "old timer" tilt when I read one of his posts. Nothing like having a big screenprint of the Party Poker lobby in his post.

God damn if I don't miss the biggest fish tank in the poker universe. Even I managed to make a boatload of money at the LO8 table against the guppies.

JJok decided to try his hand at directing a movie. I've always wanted to play the part of a chainsaw wielding maniac. I'm keeping this in my head every time someone asks another ridiculous question.

Just one more tournament to complete the first half of BBTwo. Astin took the lead away from Kaja with another second place finish last night. This is your last chance to catch him and win a seat in FTOPS Main Event.

Also, tomorrow (god willing) I am going to post all the entries received so far in the "write your way into the TOC" contest. I had most of the entries forwarded to me by the fine folks at FTP. There is less than a month to get your entry into them.

See you this evening.

Praying for numbness

I'm having a hard time getting my head on straight this morning. It has nothing to do with work, poker, blogging, or mouthbreathers. This time it's plain and simple. It feels like someone is repeatedly stabbing in the back of my head with an ice pick. A very dull ice pick. I've shoved just about every form of pain killer down my throat except my favorite liquid version, now my head is full of pain yet I have the swimming feeling like I'm walking through jello.

I think I have a buzz without the benefit of enjoying the journey to get there.

That should change shortly since good old Jim has suggested another "working" lunch which will consist of us drinking, bullshitting, and multiple SnG challenges. I fully plan to combat this wicked headache by getting looped before the sunsets. My current solution of self-medication and death metal doesn't seem to be doing the job.

As always, the phone is charged for your dial-a-shot needs.

I don't have it in me to write today. So here's the full list of the stories in Pauly's Truckin' this month. Enjoy.

Truckin' - November 2007, Vol. 6, Issue 11

1. Existentialist Conversations with Strippers: The Afternoon Shift by Paul McGuire
The club was just the type of seedy place where you might find William Kennedy Smith or any other soused heirs to the Kennedy name, knocking back cheap scotch at 3 pm while aggressively fondling the sketchy girls with visible c-section scars and multiple fresh bruises all over their cracked-out bodies.... More

2. Lonesome Cowboy Bill by AlCantHang
My comfort zone is a dive rock club where I can chain smoke, power drink, and have my head assaulted with decibels equivalent to a jumbo jet taking off. The next step down the ladder would be the pubs and bars the exist for sole purpose of its patrons getting blitzed on various hardcore drinks. Then comes the sports bars, strip clubs, snooty yuppie bars, and hotel watering holes. Near the very bottom would generally be any place that plays country music... More

3. Seven Minutes with Olga by Change100
Olga led me all the way to the back and sat me down. She took her top off and grabbed my hands, placing them on her very soft, very real breasts... More

4. The Sleep Deprived Memoirs of I by Sigge S. Amdal
I might as well go to sleep, I thought. And I thought about sleeping forever, the eternal sleep, and how it could feel – was it cold or was it cozy – had it not been for facts contesting life after death in terms of subjectively sensory experience... More

5. Their Father's Love by Sean A. Donahue
Tying to explain the differences and the complaints of a failed marriage is too complicated for a four-year old to understand. I think I heard the phrase, "But why daddy?" more than I ever thought I could. But it wasn't my kids' fault... More
Also be sure to check out the interview Pauly did with Michele Lewis in a her "Studs of Poker" series. There is one series that I'll never be involved in. I'm waiting for my fat bloated loud mouth drunks interview.

Part One: TAO OF POKER CREATOR, PAULY, IS A STUD
Part Two: Paul McGuire Still Showing Studliness

I completely missed yet another tournament thanks to the joys of socially responsible employment. I'll be interested to see every one's reaction to Hoy's switch to the turbo format. By the time I fired up my laptop and check out the tourney it was over. I would have loved to have seen the final table with Daddy, the sickest fuck I've ever met, finishing second.

Congrats to jamyhawk for winning the next seat in the BBT Tournaments of Champions and taking the early lead for Player of the Week. Kajagugu is still leading the race for the FTOPS Main Event seat.

No BBTwo tournament tonight. Plenty of time to hit up the Tier II token frenzies and SnG's to get into the Big Game this Sunday. I'm insisting on 73 players this Sunday for a $5,000 prize pool. Let's make it happen. While you are tooling around in the token games, there is also time to hit up Smokkee's BoDonkey tourney. I'm having a bitch of a time getting any money on board but we shall see what happens.

Finally, I was having a hard time deciding whether to put up another picture of Jessica Alba, a new find of Scarlett Johansson, or just some random girl. As you see, my decision making skills are failing me.

Here we go again

There is nothing less fun then stupid blogger drama and I managed to get myself involved so I guess I should mention something to get it out of the way. After that we can move on along and panties can become unbunched. For 99% of you, feel free to move along or come back later. At least I got to pull out my "Arguing on the internet" picture yet again.

Sometimes I can be subtle, other times I don't care. Thursday night at the Riverchasers game I had enough. Anyone who plays the blogger games on a regular basis knows Chad. He plays (and crushes) a ton of the Full Tilt tournaments showing monster results and has one of the best tourney games of the crew. But something happens when he gets into a blogger tourney where all "online" social skill goes right out of the window.

For months he has been coming into our "tiny" games and goes out of his way to insult everything from the buyin to the structure to the players. The majority of the players in these games are there to enjoying playing with others they know, blow off a little steam after working their ass off in the real word, and just have some fun. They don't need someone coming in and filling up the girly chat window with an endless stream of insults. Can you see where the fun might be taken out the game?

I keep to myself during the MATH and Mookie because I am not the host. But coming into my tournament, ragging on my players just isn't going to happen anymore. Not everyone has the commitment, time, or bankroll to play at his level and they shouldn't be made to have that kind of abuse laid upon them because of this. If Chad feels that it is his duty to come into a little $10 buyin tournament to unleash his wrath upon the rest of the players with that level of abuse, then consider this an invitation to stay away from the Riverchasers games in the future.

For the record, I have never once criticized or critiqued Chad's play. His records speak for themselves including a great run in the FTOPS PLO tournament on Friday. What I do criticize is his ability to be a complete douche to anyone he feels is beneath his station in life. It takes a special kind of asshole to take away other's enjoyment of the game.

By the way, it's called "Battle of the Blogger Tournaments" not "Battle of the Bloggers" but thanks for the free publicity.

As far as I am concerned this is done, it's not worth any further discussion. I wish Chad all the luck in the future because he has the skills to crush the game. I will concentrate on my little corner of paradise and enjoy life.

~

Sorry for everyone else who has to deal with this. I unplugged myself from the online world Friday morning and seemed to have missed a little stink that went up in the air. None of this really matters, in a world full of useless information the crackpot is king.

I played around a little on the tables yesterday since work insisted on waking me early again. I fudged around the 7K Guarantee in the morning and luckboxed my way to the final 3 tables on nothing resembling skill or talent. I hit up the super soft token races for shits and giggles completing the goal in 4 out of 5.

The rest of the weekend was spent in the real world and taking care of business.

~

Pauly has the November issue of Truckin' up and running. This hippy drunk asshole even managed to get myself a story in this month. Check it out.

~

Tonight starts the fourth week of the BBTwo and there are plenty of people in the running for the halfway prize of an FTOPS ME seat. The player atop the Leaderboard after the Riverchasers game will earn a $500 seat into the $2,000,000 Guarantee FTOPS Main Event. The race is still wide open for the halftime prize and the seats into the Aussie Millions Tournament of Champions.

Also, it's time to start hitting up the Tier II token frenzies because MiamiDon's next Big Game is coming up this Sunday. Smaller field, bigger prize pool, same TOC seat given away.

See you at the Mookie tonight and back to our regularly scheduled stupidity tomorrow.

Wouldn't everyone be so much happier if they just had a cup of coffee in the morning?
