No time to post. Heading down the AC Expressway shortly.

Congrats to huntvegas for winning the Riverchasers game last night and getting the 7th seat in the TOC.

The Leaderboard and Week 2 results are loaded. XxMagiciaNxX is the Player of the Week and will get an entry into the $750,000 Guarantee on Sunday.

Post-Halloween Buzz

I may have neglected to mention the one and only good thing to come out of Halloween. The day after. All the breeders bring in the left over candy and that stuff they wouldn't want their little precious to ingest. Fat boys like me loves them some candy. The stuff is all over the place, a sugar junkies paradise. Just another jonesing for me added to the bacon, booze, nicotine addictions.

Starting off slow with just the chocolate this morning but I've got the sugar jumps already. I'm holding off as long as I can before I start plowing through the pixie stix. I'll try to not snort them. I should be climbing the walls by the time you read this and will need extra booze just to bring me back down. Break the cycle!

Chilli-cheese hot dogs for lunch will put the capper on my own office destructive rampage. Payback for the rugrat invasion.

~

I haven't had a chance to get a link up to Falstaff's post with the WPBT Winter gathering details. The only change I would mention is that this year we'll probably be watching the NFL games at the immortal Imperial Palace Sportsbook. If immortal meant completely abandoned and much easier to fit in a shit load of bloggers, then immortal is the correct word.

Stop on by and let Falstaff know if you'll be making the trek. I plan to revisit many of inner demons on my 96 hour bender.

~

I'm not going to prolong any silly talk from the blogger tournaments. Half the fun of these events is the needling back and forth amongst invisible internet friends. The majority of the banter is in good humor, nothing wrong with a little ragging. I had a good time getting on Kaja's case about a call. I was saying he could afford to play any two cards because he didn't need to win his TOC seat (if you don't know what I mean by him not needing to win an event, check out his entry for the write-yourself-in contest. Insta-classic). All in good fun.

There are a few which just make me shake my head. Maybe it's the old fart in me coming out. But God damn if there aren't a couple of flaming fucking douchebags hanging out with nothing better to do. Just saying that if you're a douchebag, feel free to get bent.

If that's offends those poor souls, I'm so very sorry for your delicate nature.

~

Another Lucko invite took down the 6th event in the Battle of the Bloggers2. Loretta8 JackTen'd himself all the way into the TOC in a Mookie that had another big showing 114 players. I busted out early when I couldn't give credit for a queen in a re-raised pre-flop hand. The bustout list was pretty funny which Fuel quickly picked up on it when the order of elimination went myself, Waffles, Hoy, and Mookie. Fan-friggin-tastic showing by us. 3 hours of sitting around watching bust outs and shit TV.

I hope to make a much better showing of myself tonight in the Riverchasers game as I will be playing from the bar in a proper frame of mind. Drunk and unruly. Rumor has it that BuddyDank will be broadcasting again, no word whether Sean has dumped Buddy or if they are just on a "break".

The Leaderboard and Week 2 results have been updated. I tried to get as many links as I could but I know that I'm missing some still. Just drop a comment.

Cheers til this evening.

Halloween is worse than Christmas and I hate Christmas

Yesterday was one of my least favorite days to be a corporate whore, if I would have remembered the previous horrible October 30th work days I would have found something better to do. Chain-gang along the side of the road would have been preferable. It's days like that where I really want the full-time poker/drinker/degenerate lifestyle.

The day before Halloween is when they let the breeders bring in their spawns of Satan into the workplace to scrounge for sugar. Again I feel the need to let you know that I'm not talking about your kids dear readers. Your kids are the perfect example of pristine young humans who are nothing but pleasant and kind hearted. It's the other filthy ankle biters that make me want to take my own life by the quickest means possible.

For endless hours they were roaming the halls looking for tiny pieces of chocolate like some twisted scavenger hunt. I did everything I could do to discourage them from coming anywhere near my dungeon but a couple wandered off the beaten path into my office only to be scared away. Luckily I look like farged up biker ass dressed as a programmer. One nasty look was all it took to send Mini-Batman, mini-fireman, or mini-what-the-hell-purple-thing to go whimpering back to big mama and the bag o'candy. I was discouraged by my friends to start handing out a cigarette each. Too cliche.

The little screeching, whining, dripping balls of flesh spent the afternoon making me climb the walls when all I wanted to do was get a little work done before motivating my laptop through the nearest window. Tonight my only plan for Halloween proper is to turn off every damned light in the house and hide out until it's time to hit tonight's tournament. Maybe I'll pick up some of the those airplane bottles of booze to hand out. If they are going to annoy me, I might as well send them down the path to drunkenness.

I'll never purposely breed as long as I've got the puppy to keep me in line. This is what happens when he thinks I've been playing too much poker online.

Tonight is round 6 of the Battle of the Blogger Tournaments 2. Player number 6 will get their entry into the Aussie Millions Freeroll. Thanks to the lovely Kat we have BBTChallenge.com up and running. Still working on the layout but you'll be able to get the Leaderboard and weekly results in one spot. (TOC qualifier list blatantly stolen from Mookie.)

Per the FTP head honcho, there have been few entries so far in the "write your way into the TOC" contest. I explained that bloggers are always chock full of confidence in their game and everyone has a shot. So get your entry in if you want to back up your entry fee with a wee bit of writing. I don't know which gives Waffles the better shot, is he a better player or writer. Discuss!

I have been informed by those in the now that both the Aussie Million TOC and the freeroll have been posted. The dates for both are the same with the TLB freeroll at 21:00ET and the TOC at 22:00ET. I suspect the TOC players will be more interested in the Aussie trip.

Tournament: Battle of the Bloggers TLB
When: Thursday, December 20th 21:00ET
Buyin: Top 50 on the Tournament Leaderboard will automatically be entered
Prizepool: $1000

Tournament: Battle of the Bloggers Final
When: Thursday, December 20th 22:00ET
Buyin: BBTwo event winners will automatically be entered
Prizepool: Full Tilt Poker Aussie Millions $18,000 package

The target is visible.

Lucko, Otis, and BadBlood have all come forward with information on MATH winner XxMagiciaNxX. Seems he's a friend of Lucko with both Otis and BadBlood having played against him live. If you get props from Otis then you've got a good game. And a blog also, give it a peak.

Tonight is a crazy triple threat night. The Mookie, The Dookie, and (for Halloween) The Spookie. The Mookie is the only BBTwo event for points but it threatens to be a crazy night of donkish poker. Once I come out from my hidey hole avoiding the munchkins from hell I will ready to go. Just putting this out there that tonight is my night. No gigli for me!

Bloggers on a Bull

I'm not sure if I ever posted this short story from Key West. The Friday of my birthday I crap load of bloggers showed up, including the surprise dwarfian guest of honor, while I drinking off the newly acquired hangover. Sometime that evening while the metro-sexual crew was busy bumping and grinding clueless a clueless waitress I made an innocent enough request. That evening for my birthday I wanted to see something memorable. Nothing related to a dancer shoving random body parts in random body cavities.

I wanted to see Bloggers on Bulls. Ye olde Cowboy Bill's had a mechanical bull just waiting for drunken bloggers and massive prop bets. I neglected to let everyone know that Dr. Pauly actually caught it all on video. So here you have it. Drunk bloggers on the bull. For the record, I turned down $400 from Iggy and a host of others to get my fat lazy ass up on that thing.

Last night I was pulled from the MATH tourney thanks to a last minute work problem. These things are never completed quickly so I unregistered and proceeded to complete my work tasks. Thanks to my brilliance (now THAT'S a lie) I was able to get everything done but not in enough time to get registered again.

82 players matching last week's MATH for nearly a $2,000 prize pool. I'm not sure who XxMagiciaNxX is but congrats on getting the 5th seat the Aussie Millions freeroll. Next up is the Mookie on Wednesday.

Kajagugu left a comment about the point system and I realized that I never reiterated the formula from the first BBT. We are using the Stars formula which takes into account the tournament buyin amount as well as the size of the field. We are awarding points to the top 25% of the field, rounding up to the next player. There will be prizes for the top of the Leaderboard but still hammering out those details. They will be worth it.
Points = 10 * [sqrt(n)/sqrt(k)] * [1+log(b+0.25)]

Where:
n is the number of entrants
k is the place of finish (k=1 for the first-place finisher, and so on)
b is the buy-in amount in dollars. For freerolls the buy-in is $0.
See you at the Mookie.

How I spent my weekend feeling young again

I accomplished some of my stated goals for this weekend. Getting absolutely blotto two nights running was a success, working out the kinks in the new BBT website not so much. Sometimes priorities just need to be adjusted. I figure I have the next 4 days to punch up the website while watching 4 hours of blogger tournaments and reminding myself of the good times.

Friday night Jim (of riggstad fame and Riverchasers fortune) made a surprise appearance at the Boathouse where we pretended to try and get some Riverchasers business taken care of. That lasted until Jim was on his second tallboy Scotch while I was pickling my liver. We piled into our nearest bottle for your standard drunken bullshit session. Then we thought it would be a brilliant idea to fire up my laptop and see how many shitty little $2 SnG's we could plus through at the same time. Two people should be able to see well info to handle that.

Couldn't really tell you the out come of any of those little games but I do remember one thing. I can't tell you the last time I hit quads but in one of these I managed to hit them not once, but twice. First time with AA then later with 33. Nothing like shooting your good luck wad in a mean nothing drunken SnG. Here comes the rounds of deuce six and JackAce.

And I made it home alive with Jim driving. Quads twice and surviving with Jim. I had the nuts all night.

~

Saturday I had to be at the Boathouse 4 hours before a private party even kicked off. I will sometimes help other people setup their parties when they know what they want to do but are unsure of the logistics. In my current role is "drunken knucklehead who spends too much time partying" I've become somewhat accustomed to handling larger events. Special requests by the partygoers, the occasional rowdy drunk (not myself), and unrealistic demands made by the band. Everything was handled and at 3am I found myself staggering back into my house.

It was an interested night because Jersey shore legend John Eddie was hired for the private party. The sounds of the shore back in the mid-80's early 90's pumping through the bar. Straight from The Stone Pony, friend of Bruce, and Southside Johnny. The downside was that while the music may have brought back memories, the women didn't handle the transition to the new millennium nearly as well. That's about as kind as I can put it.

I spent the evening getting the band happy drunk off various beverages and making plans to hangout with them at a later set of shows they have planned. They just happen to be in Las Vegas during the December blogger gathering. Of course they are playing at a friggin country bar (Toby Keith's something or other bar) and I swore after Key West that would never happen again. My appearance at Cowboy Bill's was just an aberation.

So I spent my weekend getting shitty on low grade hooch, hanging out with old jersey shore boys looking to make the fat-elvis move to Vegas, and watching the jersey shore girls age before my very eyes. Just another hoohum weekend.

~

To be perfectly clear, yes, I will be in Vegas for the December gathering. I hear many of the old-timers will be making the trip. I look forward to talking metal with StB and BadBlood, Sunday football with MeanGene, cigars and Shiners with TheFatGuy, late night Pai Gow!!! with Otis, prop bets with Pauly, and passing out on the bar at 6am with Iggy.

Somewhere in there I might find some time for a little game called poker.

~

Talking about the Rockies collapse and the inevitable doucheyness of the Sox fans, BigMike summed it up nicely.
"Fuck them. Boston is a pussy town. The "southies" would be dead in ten minutes in West Philadelphia. Crackers with bad accents. They should stick to underwear modeling and LOOKING tough."
You're my boy Blue!

~

Tonight is round 5 in the Battle of the Blogger Tournaments2: Aussie Millions Challenge (definitely need a short name next time). jjok played in the $750,000 Guarantee on FTP yesterday where I silented sweated him for awhile but didn't chirp up for fear of the jinx. MiamiDon went on to score a very very impressive 27th place finish in a big donkey field. After watching a good chunk of that tournament I don't quite understand some of the angst which is directed at the blogger fields. This tournament was a $200+ buyin and I saw far worse plays there then I've seen in our events.

Every MTT is a minefield.

Full Tilt has the promo page complete with all the information now (although I don't think the TLB will ever be correct) including the additional prizes and the writing contest. Player of the Week gets an entry into that Sunday's Big Tournaments, the point leader at the midway point will get an entry into the FTOPS Main Event, and there will be a $1000 freeroll for the top 50 points earners. I'm still working on prizes for the top overall leaders on the board.

Stop on by tonight and punch your ticket as the next player in the Aussie Millions Freeroll. BuddyDank says he'll be broadcasting during the Mondays at the Hoy to add to your entertainment buck.

Cheers.
