It's about that time

Wednesday night was the last Mookie before the BBTwo kicks off the craziness of 27 events in 56 days. I stopped by the bar to charge my batteries with liquid nutrition before heading home to figure out my damned laptop. BuddyDank asked to me to show up to add my two cents. I'm sure I came off as the drunken lout I really am but I got some quality ragging in on Waffles and crew. Congrats to Buddy for actually winning the damned thing. It wasn't easy to try and concentrate on a story I was telling when looking down at a re-pop to my UTG raise. I will take partial credit for his win because I was constantly on ass to get more tequila in his system if he wanted a proper run at the title.

Last night was the Riverchasers event which I played from the bar like a douche. I was pounding shots, watching the Rutgers game, and had a handful of people watching over my shoulder. Not the prime conditions to be trying to defend my bounty. That will be the last time I put that much money on my head. Congrats to SoxLover for being smart enough to play any two cards as long as I was in a hand.

Once I got KO'd I took my frustration out on some poor cheapy SnG lemurs and the bottle behind the bar.

~

I'm taking a step back and deep breath before the BBToooo craziness. I'm going to stay away from anything resembling poker this weekend. Nothing but football and more football. By 9:30 Sunday night I should be ready to go.

Tonight I get to do some serious drinking during amateur night. It's the final night at the Boathouse for one of our favorite bartenders. He'll spend a good portion of the night on the drinking side of the bar with a designated driver already lined up. It's not really a sad occasion. Seems that he went and bought a bar just a short walk away from my house. That cannot end well.

While I'm out doing all things anti-social, you have two good opportunities to let out your inner 'tard. Kat has her $1 rebuy tonight at 9pm ET which is a great stress relief for anyone with a good sense of humor. Poker Enthusiast is also running a $5 Razz tourney tonight with money added. The bloggers have also but crushing up the Token Frenzies each night.

So go forth, be drunk, be stupid. When next we meet someone will have put themselves in the Aussie Millions freeroll and won a nice chunk of change on top.

Cheers and see you Sunday.

Random crap running through my head

"Never try to teach a pig to fly. It wastes your time and annoys the pig."

Author unknown except for Snakster
As you might imagine, I'm busy as all fook with things ramping up in the hurry. Emails and comments are flying around me with questions, suggestions, and offers for the BBToo (copyright Sean, natch Jax). My island attitude has been completely blown out of the water with work and organizing this tiny little challenge (previous link is for Speaker). I've gone back to listening to my ear-bleeding music and the twitch is back. Time to go back to drowning my nerves in a bottle to keep myself sane. (feeling very parenthetical today)

Here's just a few things to keep the page hoping.

If you are here looking for Battle of the Blogger Tournaments 2 information, here's a link to my post below. Thanks for stopping by and the Blogfather for linking it up.

Congrats to my friend FatAssBob who joined the ranks of filthy breeders out there. He obviously met a fine young lass who has a fat hairy man fetish. But god cursed him for his womanizing, groupie-humping days of old but giving him a beautiful baby girl who he will spend the rest of his life defending from guys just like he used to be.

Heh, who knew the boys could still swim after all the booze and dope.

~

By the way, the quick story of how I met FatAssBob way back in the band days. Sitting in the divest of dive bars listening to my friends band he was the only other 'tard back in those drinking Soco and doing it properly (straight out of the bottle into a big glass. No chill, no lime). He was there when the band wrote the original AlCantHang song and he was standing outside of the bathroom as they fought to recover me from the nice BAC of 0.46. He even brought his current whore at the time to the emergency room to make sure I was still alive.

My mother loved the waiting room full of drunken whores and groupies. One thing that has never been mentioned in my family since.

The good old days before I really started drinking.

~

I can pretty much guarantee at this time that there will never be another Bash at the Boathouse. Not for any bad reasons. I'm not sure how much I can say publicly at this point but I'm looking forward to moving the big party to another bar which was bought by a friend. Big enough to hold a building full of you drunken knuckledraggers and plenty of local P-ville residents to kick around when you get loopy.

This bar happens to be a very very short walk from my front door. I don't predict this ends well. These sentences just might be the prologue to my obituary.

Randy Moss got a hummer from a porn star in the woods. No lie.

...and then there's the one about the 2007 WSoP Player of the Year playing the shell game in Barcelona.

...and women are the rake.

Just a few things to clear up for BBTwo (copyright Jax). Battle of the Blogger Tourmanets 2 sponsored by Full Tilt Poker

- I am currently working on funding for an end of challenge freeroll for the top point earners and money for top of the leaderboard. I little bit of a challenge since we used FTP kickback money for the last one. That money was replaced by the Aussie Millions package so I have some work to do to get this done.

- This challenge is open to everyone, not just bloggers. If you can get registered for the events, you can play.

- The Tournament of Champions freeroll for the Aussie Millions package is just for us. When you win you will not get entered into one of the big honkin' public FTP Aussie Millions tournaments. This freeroll is our guys only.

- No, if you win multiple events (I'm looking at you Don and Bayne) you will not get double chips in the TOC. But you will have eliminated someone else from getting a seat. One less person to defeat to get the Aussie trip.

- Because I am a donkey with too much time and money on my hands, I'm putting up a bounty on my head for the Riverchasers game tomorrow. Knock me out and I'll give you the $75 buyin for Don's Big Game on Sunday.

- Thanks to everyone who started pimping this already. The bigger and badder this gets, the more interesting things will get the next time around. We got Full Tilt's attention with the first challenge and we want to really floor them.

I'm sure there are other questions that I am missing but I'm getting that jumpy DT's feeling that can only be quenched by something liquid and high octane.

Cheers and see you at the Mookie tonight. Be sure to tune into BuddyDank radio during the tournament. He might have a special guest on tonight. As long as that guest can find a proper headset and doesn't drink himself into a coma before the tournament.

Battle of the Blogger Tournaments Two

I fully intended to have a BBTwo up an running by now but I got far too busy planning drinker's get away down near Cuba. I wanted to have something running by now because I had a certain prize in mind that would require starting in late September, early October to complete a three month challenge. But I only thought of my needs and went about getting ready to drink my face off.

When I returned from vacation I began talking to Full Tilt Poker about running another BBT challenge and how much they wanted to be involved. Turns out they want to be really involved. Introducing Battle of the Blogger Tournaments 2: Aussie Millions Challenge.

Full Tilt Poker has given us an $18k Aussie Millions package to give away for our next challenge.
$18,000 Prize Package for you and a friend

The 2008 Aussie Millions Main Event begins Monday, January 14th and promises to be bigger than ever. Play for your $18K prize package, including:

* Aussie Millions Main Event entry worth AUD $10,500
* 10 nights stay at the luxurious Crown Casino Resort
* Round-trip airfare for the winner and a guest from Los Angeles to Melbourne
* $3,000 in spending money
* Winner & Pro golf outings, dinners, winery tours, seminars and a bounty tournament
Pretty god damn cool if you ask me and I was stunned when they brought it up. This was the package I really hoped to give away but thought was lost since I started so late on the planning. An opportunity to send a player and companion to the Land of Oz for 10 days with a $10k tournament thrown in there.

During the original BBT there was some positive and negative comments about the point system plus the number of people awarded points. For the BBTwo you won't have to worry about those points. We will be awarding the Aussie Millions package to the winner of a Tournament of Champions. So if you'd like to win the trip, you have to win one of the events during the eight week run. No worrying about making the points. No worrying about who made the most money during the challenge. Win an event and you are in the TOC and a shot at the Aussie Millions package.

So if you are interested in winning the Aussie Millions package, play them to win them.

But only so many people can win an event during this stretch so what about everyone else? We want everyone to play, enjoy themselves, and have a shot at winning something. Full Tilt Poker has given us the Aussie Millions Package but that's not all they're giving us.

FTP is giving us an entry into their weekly big Sunday guarantee tournaments whic we will reward to the Player of the Week. This is where that pesky point system comes in again. We will be using the same point formula as the last Challenge but this time around only the top 25% of players in each event will receive points. Whoever earns the most points during the week will get a ticket into the FTP Sunday Guarantee Tournament.

The point system will also be used to determine players to qualify for an end of challenge freeroll which is still being worked out.

There are just a couple more things to finalize and we'll get back to you with the details. I have an FTOPS Main Event seat to give away and we're just kicking around ideas of what to do with it. I also have an iPod Touch to give away courtesy of the folks at donkit.com. So many things to give away, so little time to figure out how to give them away.

So there you have it. BBTwo is about to kick off and it's time to reload your FTP account, start firing up those Token Frenzies, and strap in for an 8 week, 27 tournament challenge to see what you are made of.

We are going to kick things off on Sunday, October 21st with the big prizepool in Miami Don's Big Game. The rest of the Blogger Schedule will go as planned except now the Riverchasers events will also be weekly during the challenge. The challenge will run for 8 weeks ending on Sunday, December 16th with another Big Game.

If you have any questions, feel free to drop them in comments or shoot me an email.

Feel free to pimp your heart out. This is just the beginning, just wait until you see what happens in the spring. More details to come but I wanted to get the information out there. Start loading up on those tokens.
