Quick hitter

I've managed to struggle my way back home from D.C. through trials and tribulations in the form of Amtrak, smelly old farts, and moronic college kids. There are so many things that went down in the less than 48 hours I spent in our capital with Daddy and the crew. Those things include, but are not limited to:

- Daddy sitting with Carter and myself watching his first ever football soccer match as Chelsea defeated Liverpool.

- Penalty "shots" ordered from the bartender when he was distracted from drinking by work business.

- Heard many times, but never heeded that first night. "This is just batting practice. Take it easy, tomorrow is the real thing". We then proceeded to spend more money on booze and food then you could possibly believe.

- We almost got Daddy kicked out of his regular DC restaurant for being loud, drunk, and disorderly. And for trying to get the 20 year old waitress to knock back double Southerns with us.

- Go to work drunk, come home hungover. Wednesday night was NO batting practice.

- Gracie had her very first taste of foie gras and is instantly going to animal lover hell for liking it so much. The lamb (mmmm dead baby animals taste sooo good) put Daddy on food tilt.

- Last but not least, the end of the night had several bloggers sitting around a table listening to a special reading of "The Selected Works of Poker Champ".

Til then, you better hit me up for the Blogger Bracelet Race password. I've received many emails but still only 22 signed up. Also, the Battle of the Blogger Tournaments Leaderboard has been updated.

I understand that I won the very first hand of the tournament against Waffles even though at the time I was sitting in a restaurant being one of 4 loud people.

Spam this

"LIKE PLAYING ONLINE POKER ??? BUT, TIRED OF KEEP LOSING?? WHAT IF YOU COULD HAVE POCKET ACES IN YOUR HAND ALWAYS ? I KNOW WHAT YOUR THINKING , AND YES IT IS POSSIBLE !!!!!! LET ME SHOW YOU HOW, CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW AND PREPARE TO BE AMAZED."

Link removed to protect the tarded
I'm always amazed at some of the supremely ridiculous emails I get on a regular basis. Completely due to my own stupidity, I chose to publish my email address online but my spam filter manages to catch the majority of junk. But what really surprised me was just how quickly the blogger_wsop yahoo account arrived on the golden junk mail list for every crackpot, scam artist, pill pusher, and penis pumping fucknut out there. Within two days I found myself winning every damned lottery worldwide and the Nigerians are crushing me with the request for 'assistance in a discreet matter'.

But sweet mercy, the once in a lifetime (for me and everyone else spammed with the above message) chance to have aces in my hand every. damned. time! It must be too good to be true. Maybe I should click on the link or even post it. That would be fantastic to have a blogger tourney where everyone was holding Aces. Completely ignoring the absolute redonk part of that statement.... I'd still find a way to get four flushed and lose.

~

The MATH was last night. An absolutely frigid deck and no room to move yet still slimed my way to the final two tables. I ran the hand history last night. I had two pocket pairs all night long, TT and 44, plus a few big aces that the table folded to my pre-flop raise. All that added up to was a donkey treading water and no traction.

The MATH had another +$1,000 prizepool which is pretty sweet. The Battle of the Bloggers Leaderboard and results have been updated. We are a quarter of the way through the challenge. Over $12k in prize money and $1000 in the rake back pool with 29 tournaments left. Still plenty of time to get into the top 5 points and the top 50 for the big freeroll at the end.

There are very few things that have given me a chuckle over the last two weeks better than getting a text page from Joaquin every damned time ARod hits another home run only to watch the Yankees lose again. For the record, the mighty Yankees record is only one game better than almighty soul sucking, double-A bullpen having, 1-7 starting Phillies. But at least they still have ARod. Do Yankees fans love ARod now or is it just a temporary thing?

I have been very negligent in pimping, posting, or even mentioning the next blogger gathering. For the most part it hasn't occurred to me because I won't be able to make this one. I'll be somewhere in Florida running around dodging mosquitoes on work bidness.

Falstaff and Sloshr have done a great job getting this one up and running.

Falstaff has set up a block of rooms at The Orleans with a special rate from June 6th until June 10th. He has all the information here. Sloshr has the WPBT live event going on at The Orleans also on Saturday, June 9th around 2pm. Plenty of time for you to sober up from Friday night, or do like me and not sleep at all. The second option is always the best. The WPBT Summer Classic information is post here.

It sucks that I won't be able to make it to another liver crunching blogger hangout, but I'm sure I won't be missed. There are plenty of people to pick up the slack with the late night benders. If you have never made it to one of the live blogger gatherings, I definitely recommend it.

I'm always looking for a special angle with the bounties. I've offered up a big bounty earlier if we could get more then 80 in a past Mookie. This week's Mookie, I have a good one and it involves our favorite donkey-lite. To collect the bounty, you need to lay a really proper suckout on SirWiffleWaffle. Make it a good one. If you manage to pull off that feat that is only accomplished once an hour, I will be very happy to send you a t-shirt from this collection. Below is my favorite of the lot.
"Black short sleeve t-shirt features the "Scattered, Smothered, and Covered" Camo Screen printed on the back. Screen printed on the front is the "Waffle HouseĀ®" logo."

If the plans all fall in line, I won't be able to make it out to the Mookie tomorrow night. I should be stumbling down a dark alley in DC after Garth, Daddy, and I destroy some local boy's dream of drinking glory.

No real post for you

I have a ton of writing to get to from this weekend and none of it involves the Borgata. But I'm knee deep in work and busy making appointments to have my liver checked out by the local scientists. After 6 hours drinking nothing but top shelf martinis (BadBlood pinky approved) and another several hours at the local dive slugging back soco, my liver is to be officially listed as a natural wonder. A wonder I'm not dead.

It is no wonder that I never ended up at the Borgata on Sunday. I hadn't even gotten to the point of remembering my own name until mid-evening. Sounds like the Riverchasers crew had a blast though.

Riddle me this! A VP, 10 managers, one project managers, and your friendly blogging hippy-type person walk into a conference room. What are the odds that Mr. Hippy-type blogger would be huddled in the corners swaying while chewing on the business end of a 12 gauge?

Nothing more useless than a meeting full of suits.

I'm cooking through some posts as we speak. It was a rare great time at a wedding reception this weekend but I shouldn't be surprised since BigMike was involved in the planning. Tons of booze and great food all while overlooking the 18th hole.

I needed to pop in here real quick and remind you of the BBT events. Only two tournaments this week so they should be pretty full. The MATH tonight is trying to go over a $1,000 prize pool for the third straight week running and I expect (demand?) to destroy the 80 person ceiling at the Mook this Wednesday. Expect bounties galore.

I've gotten a crap load of emails for the Blogger Bracelet Race coming up this Sunday. Thanks to the lovely free Yahoo mail account I set up, some replies haven't gotten through. I sent out an email using my AOL account to every request I've had so far. If you still haven't received one, leave a comment here and I will get back to you.

And don't forget the second change Bracelet Race on May 13th. That is for blogger and readers. All are welcome.
