The Gallery

Look at that shirt!

I've finished cleaning up the pictures from the Vegas trip. The best group of pics are from the Saturday morning, pre-tourney, boozefest. They were taken between 6am and 8am, the wifey was doing shots of tequila so they came out pretty fuzzy.

Here's my problem. Many of the pics contain folks who might not want their image floating around the interweb portraying the drunken mess they were involved in. That being the case, there are very few pics that I'll be posting.

But have no fear my Vegas compatriots, shoot me an email and I'll happily send along the pics all zipped up and pretty (and pretty fuzzy).

Just some pics of interest....

Maudie can't keep her mits off BadBlood's guns....
The pic of Grubby playing slots with the missus that should have won me the prop bet had I remembered....
Several great pics of the Blogfather which will never see the light of day....
and of course, the party in the stretch Excursion.

So if you were in Vegas for the WPBT and you'd like the pics, let me know and I'll send them along.

"Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son."

Otis otis otis.

Now you're just showing off.

Congrats to Otis (again) who won an entry into the PartyPoker Million Cruise. Looks like 2005 will be the year of the Otis.

How 'bout some quick pimping.

I've received several emails recently and here are two that I found very interesting.

Betting for Value - has some great poker strategy content and I enjoy the writing. Just one complaint. More posts!

Internet Texas Hold'em is a forum and gathering place for online players. I found some interesting info but I'll need more time to explore. Ammon also started posting his own blog. They offered me Matthew Hilger's book for free to review (which I believe BadBlood is doing) but why waste good paper on my addled brain.

I received several cool packages in the mail this last week.

The wifey and I received are swag from CheckNRaise.com. I guess it's time to give them a shot since they did hook us up pretty nicely.

I received some black and white photos of the Bash at the Boat from Pauly. They were really cool. And yes, Mr Carter CubanLinks, I finally got THE picture of you and the zebra.

Last but not least, a package from a certain Wendy's loving, job-quitting, Vegas bound grubster. We now have an addition to the always growing MonkeyBoy family.

BTW, I was so wasted at the Vegas gathering that I never brought MonkeyBoy Jr. down from the room. d'oh.

The mayor said a ban on smoking in public places will top his projects
list when Council returns to work next month.

By Michael Currie Schaffer and Marcia Gelbart

Mayor Street will push a citywide ban on smoking in bars, restaurants, and other public places as one of his first priorities when City Council returns from its holiday recess next month.
Damned filthy lung huggers are going to eff up my city.

New Year's Eve Resolution #1....

Stop playing the blogger NL tables when I'm sober. Drunk, I don't care. Sober, I look around at the players and have the regular Rounders moment.

Yep, I'm the sucker.

No work for the rest of the week, some gambling (press it kenNETH!), and some world class boozing coming up.

Happy New Year to everyone if I forget to post between now and then.

Random junk

"I have to ask. Do you guys feel alright?"
Frank the bartender

That was the odd question posed to myself and BigMike yesterday just before the start of the Eagles/Rams game. Frank thought that 17 doubles between the two of us before the start of the game might be too many.

Oh the humanity.

We had to explain to him that we just need to know each time we kill a bottle. Amateurs judge by the number of shots.

My weekend in the land of upstate NY turned into a rather odd time with zero, time in the casino.

Friday night I spent with the wifey, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law. My brother-in-law and I polished off a bottle of Soco while the wifey got her mother schnookered an hour before she had to act as the Eucharistic minister for midnight mass.

That's my girl.

Christmas day was spent with the in-laws even though I was given permission to bypass Christmas to play in the Turning Stone's Saturday 11am tourney. Much rejoicing and one monster demon child (nephew). Then horrible stomach troubles which sidelined me all afternoon and night.

Geek gifts received.... The Star Wars Trilogy on DVD and The Lord of the Rings Risk game. geek on.

Sunday turned into a humongous family..... problem.

If I was actually able to give you the details you would swear that I made the whole damned thing up. It was that crazy.

No poker, no gambling.

So we're heading down to A.C. on Wednesday. Who's wit me?

God damned it, Scott. I've had Omaha from the Gourd's stuck in my head for 3 straight days. How do I get rid of it?

Just for Otis....

When we walked into the in-laws house on Friday, there was a 5 gallon pot of gumbo simmering on the stove.

Did I mention that the wifey's mother is Cajun? Genuine swamp girl. You know it's a big pot when you overhear this conversation...

"5 pounds of okra and 5 pounds of crawfish...."

That's why I was skeptical of the 'gumbo' being served in the poker room at the Excal. And it may have been to booze also.

Speaking of Otis the Master, his PokerStars Caribbean Adventure blog is up and running. Hand's up if your jealous.

With the end of the year coming up, I have two events to announce.

The weekend of February 4th to the 7th I'll be throwing the AlCantHang 14th Annual Super Bowl Party where we basically take over the empty town of Ocean City, MD. Tons o' booze and a blast of a good time. Anyone in the area interested, let me know.

Then in April, the 2005 Key West Poker Invitational. A week long celebration of all things related to poker, strippers, booze, and debauchery. I'm even throwing in some deep sea fishing to try and catch this bastards brother. Any FLA bloggers need to make a trip?

I'll have more information later but I wanted to give a head's up for those who might be tempted.

I hope everyone had a great holiday. Have a safe New Year's Eve.
